Equator Poem by Mark Heathcote

Equator

I've a life that's ventured the snow
And froze hard under every footstep
Until I crossed my own equator
Found it melting everywhere I go…
So now I know the sunlight the woodshed
Within myself; is the fire, my vindicator?
