Epitaph In A Convex Mirror Poem by Howard Camner

Epitaph In A Convex Mirror

Come on, remember my name
Know that I was here
That I did what I could and not enough
Know that I wrote it all down and tore it up
Know that I knew too little but more than most

Come on, remember my name
Know that I was here
That I went to war and said my piece
Know that I filled my pockets with too much space
Know that I stayed too late and left too soon

And yes, that was me
in that cheap process shot where it looked like I was moving
but I was really lying still

It was my past that moved
a series of out-takes from decade after decade
of an unsolvable puzzle
in search of its pieces
