Epitaph Poem by Robert Beksinski

Epitaph

Rating: 3.5

Come morning, come sun

Rise, rise

Give birth to the day

To promise of the days to come

For it is only a matter of time

Before our love will die

Inside our eventual darkness

Of the night so cold

Unbearable pain

Unspeakable truth

Why must it hurt to love

Why must love die

Our world shatters

Its fragments cut like razor blades

Now come night, come darkness

We are prepared

We are ready for the end

Tears flow, blood runs dry

Nothing remains

Only the anguish of memory

When our love once was

One final farewell

To you my darling

My sweet angel

It is dying

And o how I will miss it

Goodbye my love, goodbye
