Epiphany Poem by Danny Taylor

Epiphany

I had an epiphany about my Tiffany
Last night while I rested my head
I could never discover, one time or another
What caused her to say what she said

Entranced was I thinking, and not hardly blinking
I wondered what caused her to be
The most wicked, obscenest, the cruelest and meanest
Female you ever did see

At first when I met her, I’d never felt better
We’d dance in the moonlight and sing
Hope for the un-knowing, our love started growing
Then one day I bought her a ring

With a smile and in shock, she said “yes! ” to that rock
And we sat up to watch the sun rise
Something then started changing, some things rearranging
Which led to our painful demise

With no sign of stopping, all day she goes shopping
As if I’m a man of great wealth
All the spending and buying, the sales and sighing
Are putting a strain on my health

She snores when she’s sleeping, at movies she’s weeping
I try and I try but know
That her hands would be shaking, the earth would start quaking
If I just decided to go

I had an epiphany about my Tiffany
The truth of the matter is sad
All I do is appease her, obey her and please her
Cause I fear for my life when she’s mad
