Enveloped Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Enveloped

Rating: 2.7

At first embrace
I could feel the thickness
of him
surprising to me,
the musculature;
his arms
made me feel
small
and girlish.

I could feel
the smell of him;
his shoulder
a gentle slope
and I a woman toboggan
fitting his mountain side.

He was hard
against my soft side
and we both blended
inside and outside;
I'm enveloped
and enveloping
our silhouettes meshed
contoured
for the perfect fit
where our breathing
in the silences
fall like
soft snow
on a mountain top.
Our Winter embrace
had its Spring.
