Enslaved Poem by Joshua Johnson

Enslaved

A tall tree and a rope
hanging tight and thick around my throat
For when i dropped my neck didn't break
so i struggled and dangled
wringling like a fish as i was strangled
Robbed of every breath in my lung
Can you stand to look at me hung?
Can you really?
CAN YOU REALLY! ?
Look at me and dont you dare turn
Look at the eyes of the soul you burned
Is your heart stained with my blood?
Tears filled my eyes like a flood
and you said nothin
NOTHING! ! !
What do you think of me
when your lying next to him sleepily
and see my face?
Do you cry and scream my name?
HA! Bury your face in shame
For i am dead my love
No breath that breathes no heart that pumps
You have driven me down to the grave
But now are subjected to my memory as a slave
