I screamed aloud
At heaven’s door
Enough of all this hate
Enough! Enough! Let’s have no more.

Enough of wars
Of need and pain
Enough of senseless death
Enough of tears that fall in vain.

Enough of all this suffering
Oh God of all that’s right
Let this constant turmoil stop
And let it stop tonight!

Then my voice grew silent
As I waited His reply
But no sounds were ever uttered
In the dark and empty sky
