Enlightenment Poem by VICTORIA HEIM

Enlightenment

Onward, until the boat reaches our destination
Island of tradition
the temple houses the sacred relic,
the Buddha's tooth
Overcome the limitiations
of wrong inclinations
Extinguish the flame of envy and
free the heart from the prejudice
set in motion
the Wheel of Righteousness
that leads us to our Salvation
Only the individual can walk the path
of introspection
and Ultimate Truth
which is Nirvana
Let us go, let us go, all of us
helping each other
to the shore
where we are welcomed with
the gift of intuition
With steadiness, shed all the
illusions of the Soul
The illumination of
Enlightenment
offers us protection
from deception
With a new perception
everything glistens
Resassurance is found
in the elegant beauty
of the lotus flower
