Endless Poem Poem by Yehuda Amichai

Endless Poem

Rating: 3.1

In a modern museum
In an old synagogue
In the synagogue
I
Within me
My heart
Within my heart
A museum
Within a museum
A synagogue
Within it
I
Within me
My heart
Within my heart
A museum

Deeply rooted in belief and awareness of self. Multi-layered! ! Loved it

I think this is a poem about memory, somewhat disguised by its title. Sometimes unadorned translations frustrate me. I wonder what compromises the translator made here.
