Endless Night Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Endless Night

Keepsakes of a time
when love
was radiant…
free from doubt
as glistening rays
streamed from above
lifting two souls
beyond earthly concerns…

A pearl and diamond ring
set in gold,
two yellowing ticket stubs
from the theater,
a delicate lace scarf
with deepening folds,
and lastly… a hotel key in
a bead and sequined purse

Stored away in a shoebox
wrapped in lavender
scented tissue paper
removed from sight...
hidden from
ticking clocks
fusing with the darkness
of an endless night
