Encounter Poem by Georg Trakl

Encounter

Rating: 2.9

The stranger on the way - we look at each other

And our tired eyes ask:

What have you done with your life?

Be silent! Be silent! Leave all laments!

Already it becomes cooler around us,

The clouds dissolve in the vastnesses.

I think we shall ask more no longer

And nobody will escort us to the night.
