En Route From Lisbon To Frankfurt Poem by Mike Barrett

En Route From Lisbon To Frankfurt

Sitting in
An aisle seat
Of this 727
One sees the
The tops of clouds
The blue sky
And the sun.

While here
The flight goes on
Normally -
People talking,
Walking up and down
The aisles.
The engines drone
And all is well
In our little world.

My thoughts
Are not here though.
They flow
From here to home
And back again -
Bringing with them
Smiles, happiness.

How the
Same we are -
Yet
How different!
