Empty Words (Truth Behind Beauty) Poem by Alexander Foald

Empty Words (Truth Behind Beauty)

Empty words like I told you
Empty words, like people listen to
Empty words, something gets through
Empty words, only empty words and nothing true

Transcend this light to the dark side of me
So I can see where this road will take me
Before I say goodbye and close the curtain
And leave the world with its selfish consumption

Because I am sick, I have long since fallen ill
In the dust of hatred and spite I’d only feel
Beloved women, tranquil evildoers behind beauty
So much pain! Yet nothing I could complain!

Is it love; tell me where it dwells!
Is it truth; show me the way through hells!

Empty words, like she accused me
Empty words, had she knew what they mean
Empty words, everything exists as they seem
Empty words, spoken by only mind in the wind
