Empty Places Poem by Spiritwind Wood

Empty Places

Love reflected through my soul
like mirrors of shattered glass
the tears that I could not let go
and kept me picking up the pieces
of your forgotten kisses

Time ticked away the hours that pass
that tore my dreams from your reality
and left me wounded from deep inside
with a heart that only died

Leaving me here in these empty places
that I can not seem to escape
searching in the dark for something new
away from your lies that would only rape
that I seen in so many faces

Bleeding trying to forget everything I knew
with yesterday left in the past
of all now that is forever gone with all I cried
that once I found in you a love to last
now only slips away in time

Where the sun never seemed to hide
will now no longer again shine
there where you use to be closer to me
is now only a pain of fantasy
left in the shadows of my misery

In empty places my darkness is all I see
there is no flame left burning bright
where I can't anymore hold on to the light
there where love once reached for you
is the echoes of a wasted memory
