Empty Books Poem by Wojja Fink

Empty Books

Rating: 5.0

Pushed in their buggies or prams
by mum power,
wrapped in their finest
autumn toggs
gurgling,
Aaaaaing
Eeeeeing
Uuuuuuing
pure vowels,
who taught them to sing so?

Like empty books
but with knowing smiles
what will you write?
on their tiny pages
surely not;
today’s dark ages.

hi, there is no other book than the book of life, all else is plagiarism.

I often look at today's babies and hope the best for them with their rosy, optimistic faces. Deep down, I know they could be tomorrow's drug pushers. I like the guarded optimism - we can only be realistic.

Not so much envious UU, more mindful of what goes on the pages.

This is lovely, I like the idea behind the poem. I guess I might not call them 'empty books'.... more blank canvases... but both words tend to sound in the negative and I know you are not doing that. You are praising the positive of the empty pages. As though, you are almost envious at the untapped potential that is there for all these new souls. Am I right? Great poem idea though - enjoyed. HG: -) xx

Only a preface is written by elders on empty books and the rest has to be done by us when we enter our age of productivity face to face with the insolent society......The manuscript would then be completed with elapsed moments....

Empty books and blotting paper..babies and screams...momma power...hey, where's dad? There's a law here against kids carrying heavy bags to school...another thing whether these books are empty or not. Need some soul-searching on this, All adults need to. Shame on them, bullying them kids! ! Wojja's the modern Charlie in the chocolate factory Wojja's the New 'un.. Cheers. Subroto

Empty books. It's like an empty pages making an dedication, you know like a flyleaf. So beautifully written though!
