Emptiness Of Life Seen Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Emptiness Of Life Seen

Lying upon a bed of heartache, heart beating senselessly,
mind disappearing into another dimension where life is
not cruel, but loving and beautiful.

Visions of peace and serenity in our world, filling an
interior spirituality, enjoying the essence that is being
emitted from within a bluened light of the Divine.

Spirit of my soul emanating intense joy, wonder and awe,
seeing the emptiness of life, knowing it will be over-
flowing with total elation when death takes me beyond
it's borders.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Daniel Brick 29 May 2016

Georg Trakl startled his friends one night, when after hours of brooding silence, he cried out in joy, How can we speak of the moment of death when it is the threshold of life everlasting? How indeed. Your poem like Trakl's comment speaks of death honestly but fearlessly. The emptiness of the title is just a way of divesting your soul of what it will not need, no loss there, and in a moment it will possess the pearl of inestimable value, that is, Life Everlasting. This is a poem to reread when you're feeling unfocused and maybe depressed. It alerts the soul and the heart, Hey, sluggards, wake up - there's the work of redemption to be done!
