Emotions Poem by Elia Michael

Emotions

They rage within my brain
Emotions wild and deep
At times they cause me pain
Exhausting me to sleep

They also give me joy
A lively happy state
Which I when but a boy
Did more often create

You'd think when you were old
They'd be less deep, less wild
Or you could put on hold
The ones which are not mild

No, they rage in my mind
And always on the boil
I try and try to find
A calming soothing oil
