Emotional Shells Poem by Mathew Stewart

Emotional Shells

These shells
their just lies
these shells their just actors
these shells their all fake
these shells they dont exist

we cover ourselves up
in these impenetrable prisons
we go through life building our walls
we go through life adding bricks

we act all day
we act all night
we act all year
we act like we dont care

we all can act
we all can lie
we all can convince
we all can persuade

we act to ourselves
we lie to ourselves
we convince ourselves
we persuade ourselves

that we are okay
we tell each other to stop
but we do it ourselves

we need to stop
we need to break these walls done
we need to make them crumble
we need to make them crack

we need to kick them away
we need to break them all
we must stop
we must help
we must care

we must cry
we must scream
we must smile
we must laugh

this lying should stop
this lying should sieze
the truth we must know
the truth we should care

these shells we should break
these walls we should tear down
these bricks we should chuck
our emotions need to leak
our emotions should show

GET THEM OUT!
