Emote Poem by Alejandro Torres

Emote

When I am gone
Do not be surprised
Nor distressed
Emotions
They can but only destroy
The likes of us
Though it’s I
That turns your vision
Of our secret world
Upside down
Would you have me
The Earth would crumble
If I had you
Surely the Heavens would fall
But the grandeur of love
Is in the little things
I no longer have to enjoy
The whispers in abandoned halls
Who would hear them now
Of the great tale they tell
Behind our backs
But the ending
Makes waste
Out of lies
But I survive
To see the disguised Angel
Maybe sometime soon
Before it becomes
Too late
