Embezzlement~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Embezzlement~

Rating: 5.0

The infancy days of January are upon us
Raising and bowing it's inquisitive head
Too soon to take it's baby steps into this Winter
Cooing & googling while understanding what is said;
Such challenges ahead for this newborn
This year of '2013' born and ready to grow
With each new day another baby step is taken- -
Growing through the months of: 'Need To Know';
Protecting you in your infancy from all harm
From those who are bent upon embezzling your own- -
Weaning you from the bottle early enough for Summer
Hoping by July - that your legs have grown;
Come along to sweet October- toddling
You are walking free enough to clearly see
Your arms and hands now are so far reaching- - -
That we can reflect in December, your very infancy;
So grow well for us, dear - '2013'
Make it well through your toddling ways
January's open door allowed you to investigate the bedroom bureau
That has, in the past, been filled with dirty diapers from darker days.
