I’m not stuck between a rock and a hard place
I’m in a pit, a pit from which you can’t see God’s face
There’s no getting out on my own, I’m stuck here forever
I tried climbing the sides but I fall right back in.

I’m drowning, gasping for air, needed air
I’m sinking, in a pool away from God’s care
Though lost in the water I’m crying a tear
I can’t swim to the surface, I’m not even near.

Elevate Lord, elevate
I can’t wait, Lord
Such a state, Lord
Please will you elevate.
