Ek Subha

Ek raat andhere me baithe hue,
Andhere ko bhi dekha maine...
Gehra gumsum kuch soona sa,
Mere jeevan pe jo chhaya tha..

Sochti hun aksar yunhi,
Kya tumhara ek pal bhi mujhse milta hoga?
Ya gum ho tum bhi chalte chalte,
Apni zindagi ke ujalon me..

Us ujaale se nikalke fir ek subha,
Ek kiran mere darwaze tak bhi ayi...
Boli chal sang mere tu bhi,
Kuch hi pal ke liye hi sahi..
Na darr roshni me girne se..
Andhere ki aadat thik nahi
Aahaton ko chhor kar akela yunhi..

Uth chal pari hun main bhi us sang,
Un raahon par dekhne..
Jahan tum ab rehte ho,
Kisse kab kya tum kehte ho...

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
