Ego Rulers Built Massive Monuments Poem by Terence George Craddock

Ego Rulers Built Massive Monuments

Rating: 5.0

but the world
exists without us
set on its own course

the wind still blows
the sun still shines
the rain still falls

the world indifferent
will carry on without us
this is why ego rulers

built massive monuments
countless buildings statues
in praise of their names

hoping to be remembered
on lips which if wisdom wise
will honour kind sincere caring hearts

who implant
beautiful memories
within our souls

capitalist leaders ego fed
age fall like bad debts
past wall street crashes

hoping to be future remembered
on lips of their fenced in peoples
once forced to follow their dictates!
