Education Poem by John Knight

Education

Rating: 4.0

What is School - a place to learn,
Where learning adds on learning,
As each day suceeds the day before?
So daily I become more learn-ed
And what have I learnt?
Language, Literature, Music, Math, Science & Sociology
And what have I understood?
Through language - through math - the mystery and meaning
Of life - of death - of in between.
Life without knowledge is meaningless
Death without understanding is futile!
So what is School - College - University?
A preparation for life - LIFE SKILLS
A preparation for death - DEATH SKILLS!

It is an interesting sonnet on education.

This seems better (strangely?) since the 'sonnet' label has been removed. It now becomes a thoughtful free-verse piece with a paradoxical but perceptive ending.

Education is vital for us to progress in this world.A making of a high rise building needs architect, engineer, evaluator, auditor, supervisor and construction laborer. Its a on-going process that we have to acquire through out our life.
