Echoes Poem by Amelia Murray

Echoes

Echoes
Echoes in the dark

Teeth being the main attraction.
Actions being controlled by a puppet master.
Tongues repeating endless rehearsed monologues.

They say eyes are the gates to the soul,
What if you close the gates,
Can they every be reopened?

Echoes
Echoes in the dark

Light is now the absence of darkness.
It brings suffering and destruction.
Darkness is a cage, it protects, but you are confined.

Echoes

You see,
What I want you to see.
You hear,
What I plant on my tongue.
How do you decipher it?

Whispers...
What do they bring?

Echoes
Echoes in the dark
