Ebony Mercy Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Ebony Mercy

Finding peace through life-enhancing poetry,
even though sorrow rears it's head in anger.
Filtering energies with writing to keep grief
at bay for moments of time in lateral dimensions.
Watching images slowly travel past in ebony
satin beauty, as crystal ice forms in drops of
tears, unable to be shed softly.
Singly falling into my heart with pain-inducing
hardness, as my mind cries out for mercy in
darkness of ebony grief.
