Ebb And Flow Poem by Yasmin Khan

Ebb And Flow

Rating: 4.5

At times noisily, the waters on the shores roll
Beating, drifting swiftly
from within deep heart of the sea in birthing foams
Splashing, striking madly
Waves caress the beach and rocks, sea-gulls scream, winds roam,
Wading, blowing hastily
A boat on the beach is drenched in the surging run.

Now rushing stormy waters go out, waves recede
Dribbling, flowing steadily
Ebb's low muffled whispers, rise, rush fall and concede
Creeping, crawling calmly
Vast stretches grey and empty, glistening shingles
Humming, pulsing gently
The metronomic waves' comforting song, resonance of shells

Life has its own ebb and flow
Rhythm of breaths, high and low
Muted songs and raucous sounds
Heavens above or on the ground
Countless waves of hope and fear
Beat against the heart, far and near
Rays of the sun, clouds of doubt
Serene and loud, calm and bout
