Eating Man Poem by Teresa Chrobak

Eating Man

The eating man knows not who observes him
He eats alone
The eating man hears not what is asked of him
he eats predictably
the eating man sees not the nourishment before him
he consumes without attention
The eating man speaks not to a single soul
He continues the internal conversation
The eating man manipulates not without intention
He calculates his every bite
The eating man relies not on random possibilities
he knows the routine and does not flinch
The eating man pays not attention to his surroundings
He is contained within a gastronomic capsule
The eating man notices not the time as it passes
he exists to digest it all as it occurs
