Eat The Rich! Poem by Eric Paeplow

Eat The Rich!

Why is it so many people think the world owes them a living?
Is it a condition, an illness, a sickness? No, it's all about fairness!
It's not fair that I have more than you, it's just not fair, oh no!
Never mind that I busted my butt, with lots of hard work and anguish

Maybe instead, you should listen, to what a wise man, once said
'Get over yourself, the world owes you nothing, it was here first! '
But oh no, that will never do, instead they said, 'you owe me some bread'
Eat the rich, eat the rich! They all said, never thinking, things could be worse

Ok then, let's go down that road, let's see where it ends
Envy of another, can never be satiated, it can never be fed. Eat the rich!
OK, then, who comes next, maybe the neighbor, maybe your friend
After all, it's just not fair, that they have more than you, in the end

Now you've done it, the rich are all dead, or if they were lucky, they fled
Now who will you target, who has more than you?
Your mother, your father? Why not, after all, they are better off than you
So yep, that's right, they are now targets too

But by using your brilliant logic, should you be lucky enough
Should your parents have had any inheritance left
It wouldn't be paid to you, oh no!
Nope, it would be paid, that's right, straight to the government!

After all, you said it yourself, it's not like you earned it
It just would not be fair, that all the other malcontents
Don't have as much as you and didn't get their fair share
But the world isn't fair, nor on that should you depend

As it's always been said, there are winners and losers in life
Never mind that's how it always was, and how it's always been
Don't confuse me with the facts, they mean nothing to my strife
You owe me, you owe me! Pay me now, next week I'll be back again!

When finally their world comes crashing down
They will all be stunned and will all be quite surprised
What do you mean there is no money left? How could it all be spent!
You are just hiding it from me, oh, how those rich we despise!

After all their mistakes and all the demands they make
They will still be blind, the will still never be able to see
That hard work and determination, is all that it really takes
So let me leave you with these parting words, which may help you all foresee

Socialism is nothing more than a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance
And the gospel of envy, with its only virtue being, the equal sharing of misery
Because the trouble with socialism is that sooner or later
You run out of other people's money!
