Eastern Grey Kangaroo Poem by nimal dunuhinga

Eastern Grey Kangaroo

Rating: 5.0

'Macropus Giganteus'
Is this your tribal name?
And we are human beings.
You live in Australian Green
And we like to hide in your secured pouch
To see our daughter and Son-in-law in Dandenong North
Oh! Our friends Alison and Jerry too.
All of them may surprise when we jump out to their premises.
Dear Kangaroo, You are so innocent like us
And we are friends indeed.
We reduce our weight and never give you a burden.
In your warm pouch we dream a cold pasture.

*To Tharindu & Kelum...............Alison & Jerry........!
[Tharindu, the stamp on your letter with two Kangaroos really amazed me.]

Nothing on the internet compares to receiving letters from far away worlds via those colorful airmail stamps. Warmth travels well that way. My best to your daughter and son-in-law. They are always in our prayers. Blessings to all, Sandra

What a delightful image you share in this beautiful poem, Nimal. The eastern grey kangaroo hops into our lives on occasion still. It is always such a thrill to see him (or her) in the early mornings when I'm walking my dog. Warm pouch and warm heart - a sweet symbol of friendship in a far away world. Thanks so much for your dedication and please give Jerry's and my love to your dear daughter, Tharindu and Kelum, her fine husband. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
