Ears Fogged Of Lies Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Ears Fogged Of Lies

The word slips through your lips
The lyrics strike a strong resemblance of what it is
After all, it’s not the word that eats my stomach all night
In the early morning and during the day
It doesn’t seem to want to fade away
Your lips must whisper fiction because your eyes don’t lie
Behind that line you drug in our sand
With a stick you took from my apple tree
An ogre grip to my stick
You dared me jump to your side
But failing to fix your heart is the furthest thing from my mind

You have no right ground my plains
Scream words that will set you afire clinching your last days
Finding a secret little plan to take your own pain away
Do you have the right?
Only the books will say

That line sinks deeper and deeper
Throwing grains of sand in the eyes of our memories past
Blinding the part that doesn’t last
I know your blue gaze best dear
I know your heart skips its beats watching my eyes walk away
I must set down my favorite
Yes, I walk away
