Earned Arrogance Poem by adam stevens

Earned Arrogance

she whirled and turned away
'I could have my way any day'
she said this not with pride
and not intended to deride
merely meant to inform
a simple clarity
she knew inside
what control was
how to use it
she could enter a room
make all eyes stare in open wonder
casual disdain she would only return
she's seen it all
has never known a moment
she didn't own
let her speak
let her sway
you're lucky just to get to listen and watch
