Early Works - No Answer Poem by David Harris

Early Works - No Answer

Around and around the whole world goes
stopping never
around and around the clock hands go round
stopping always when the spring unwinds
around and around we go on life’s never ending road
around and around.

People pass in lonely spheres
never talking never stopping
strangers, friends and family
strangers are we always
lonely in our world
we pass on and on.

Uncertainty is forever
lasts and lingers on
eternity is impossible
end must come sometime
where do we go from here
the questions always asked.

Life must be something more
than we can comprehend
but what I question
no answer returns
only silence of a coming day
but what I ask again
once more only silence calls
so nothing is all I know.
