Early Morning Respite Poem by Warren Collins

Early Morning Respite

Rating: 4.3

Often in the early morning it seems
there is a respite

Before our scattered consciousness
re-groups fully

Before the magnetic fragments
of the resentments and hostilities
of our lives
draw together

to re-establish their hold on us

In that moment there may be peace
and comfort and tolerance
I know there is something that

feels good

Even as we know what
lays in wait for us when we rise
often in the early morning
it seems there is a respite

Lovely dramatic monologue, well articulated and nicely penned with insight in poetic diction. A good poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
