Early Morn In Fifoot Ward Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Early Morn In Fifoot Ward

I rest upon my hospital bed,
‘tis four forty five in the morn.
Hardly any traffic passes by,
Awaiting for the dawn.

Thank you LORD for a Night of rest,
Five hours of sleep I have had,
With calm ~ no pain ~ serene I have been,
I am glad it was good ~ not bad.

Thank YOU LORD for a new day,
Knowing YOU will keep me safe,
What will happen I do not know,
But in YOU I have my Faith.

My Life is guided by YOU ~ I know,
Each hour ~ each day ~ each year,
As long as breath in my body is,
I shall live it without fear.

I again upon my pillows lay,
Hoping for some more hours sleep,
Will it be peaceful ~ without pain?
My Trust in YOU ~ I shall keep.

24 March 2014.
