Dying Affair Poem by Soumita Sarkar

Dying Affair

The sea of love for you
spread far above the blue
So fair I had it in me
But you failed to see

One mistake silly I made
I couldn't hold the cage
of my truth plain
my real self drained
In this created circus
nothing is left to discuss

I had wished to offer
a bond to last long
Which from your's differ
And you sang a carnal song

I had reasons to deny
So you decided your fly
from this disaster
That became once master
to leave us shattered
Wasn't it a silly affair
dying before it could mature?

Very heartfelt poem, beautifully portrayed of love going awry. At times the other person's reasons are not for love, but only selfish reasons. Great message in this poem. Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn
