There is
me,
well draped,
restrained,
sophisticated,
cultured,
happy,
prosperous,
not erring
anywhere,
oh!
there is me,
gross,
erratic,
vicious,
envious,
who cries on
petty losses
irrelevant defeats
who is scared
and insecure,
trembling
when lonely,
why,
why do I laugh
when in reality
I am crying,
how long
these pretences
how long this duality,
this Dr Jekyll
Dr Hyde,
this saying
again and
again,
hopelessly,
it is alright
it is alright!

I suppose it is that perplexing duality that makes us human and poetic. Very insightful and well-composed poem, with effective short lines that mimic our shifting moods and thoughts. Good work.
