Drug Called Love Poem by Jeshua Logsdon

Drug Called Love

I am in need of a physician,
who can give me a medication,
that will take away this pain
and give me back my strength,
to make me live,
make me feel,
One whose side effects will keep the pain from coming back.

I need a pill that will make me gracious
I need a shot that will change my plan
I need surgery that will make me jealous
I need reconstruction that will make me a man.

I need to stop drinking water
and start thirsting for passion
I need to thrive off of hope for the future.
This will be my remedy.
This be my agony.

The only side effect:
Worry.

The warning label reads,
"Causes unnecessary anxiety."
everything and everyone around you
is an enemy
a fraud
is trying to steal from you

But don't be alarmed

For the most part, your concern is returned
by another whose prescription is the same
They are scared for you
and want to hold you above
all these side effects
caused by a drug called:
Love.
