Droplet Poem by Rachel Henley

Droplet

Rating: 1.0

Oh, the dreams we can never reach,
the tragic horror that is love,
giving us a taste of what we can never have,
a little bit longer, a sorry,
love that was always skinny.

I curse fate, I curse destiny,
for ever seperating you from me,
the times we live in, the people we avoid,
we are the country silence in the city noise.

The denial of never admitting it was over,
in the beginning, in the end,
was there ever a beginning?
Did this, us, ever end?

Yes, me and you, you and I,
we were destined to love,
destined to swear to forever,
we believed those eternal promises,
but the wind wasn't blowing in our sail
and the sun wasn't shining on our eden.

We were just a cloud,
drifting by into nothingness,
you became a droplet in the ocean,
gone from my reach,
lost to the sea.

Its rains all the time, where I am from.
