'Driftin' Poem by NiQi Deveaux

'Driftin'

Rating: 4.5

Oh please, Oh please, my darling
Can't we just let this be done?
I'm so weary of the struggle
I just wanna have some fun

Some? Oh please my darling?
I'm sure we can do better
We could hang a hammock in the trees
And find a great big sweater

Where we could both crawl into it
And lay looking at the stars
Talk about how I'm from Venus
And how they say men are from Mars

But then we could forget that
And find our common ground
I could lay my head upon your heart
Just listening to the sound

I could drift away just feeling
The peace inside your breath
Getting lost with every single
Rise and fall that's in your chest

If I could crawl inside your head
Sleeping forever in your dreams
Sailing on the sea of love
Lazily drifting on moon beams

If I'm living in a dream
I hope that I never wake
Cause I would miss you, oh so much
Don't you know for goodness sake
