Dreams Aren'T Anything Poem by Kelly Zion

Dreams Aren'T Anything

Kitten playing in a field
So sweet and innocent
The kitten slept in the barn
But in the night she wept
She was afraid to show her heart to ever love again
She never wanted to grow up just to hurt again
She'd dreamed of love of growing
And tried to fly away
But her heart got pulled by the strings
Of time and down she came
She licked her fur, tried not to hurt
But it wouldn't go away
Every night she still sees you
When she can't fall asleep
A trusting heart she once held
Deep beneath her fur
But a loving heart can't go on
If he's not loving her
Fly anywhere, do anything
You can't escape yourself
Cry all the night as you dream
Of being something else

Mulberries don't mean anything
Hay is just dead grass
Everyone is just a face
You want not to go past
Hide your face, fall on your knees
Die somewhere on the grass
That kitten you once thought you'd be
She's not coming back
A barn for her? Now that's just hurt
Diamond on the tire swing
Chandeliers are just here
To lower down her heartstrings
Take your pick, which way to die?
You want to die innocent?
It's too late now to turn back now
You've got to face the darkness
It's to late now to find warmth now
You've got to wait till harvest.

Smiling is lying
Being happy isn't true
I can't be anything I want to be
Without loving you
Move into a different life
A different form of me
Take on a disguise
You'll still feel the same
Diamond, tie your noose and
Die on the tire swing
Dreams aren't anything.
