Dreams And Ships Poem by James Frady

Dreams And Ships

Rating: 5.0

A ship at sea is often tossed
With mighty waves and storm
A dream within is much the same
And in the mind is torn
It’s tossed about by winds of fate
Man cannot control
Which change the man who has the dream
And wrench it from his soul
A dream can often change so much
We never realize
That where and old one once was held
A newer one now lies
Dreams are sometimes quietly forgotten
As dreamers grow slowly older
Other dreams are cast away
As hardened hearts grow colder
Every man should have a dream
To give his life direction
Every dream should be held to
Tightly for protection
For a man who has no dream
Has nowhere he is going
He aimless lives and aimless dies
Reaping what he’s sowing
A ship at sea though tossed about
Will reach its destination
A dream with in, when kept and fed
Gives us inspiration.
