Hi, I find this poem the best one among those I've read, because it is the one which touch sentiments and the psychological side. Additionally, it is the one I find peace and just soft words as bird. The linkage between dreams and fly is very beautiful to encourage people to dream. Thank you (Report) Reply

    Salame!
When I read the comments of my mates, one by one and name by name, especially the names of the last fourth year students, I understood that the aim of these comments is not just to comment. It was done consciously or not that doesn’t matter, what is important is that these little names of the students are marked here as long as this space exists. May be one day some one will say, “ Oh may God! This is the name of my father or mother…, why not my teacher...”
Langston wrote about dreams, using little words and few sentences, giving hope to those facing their harsh times, and burning a candle in the darkness of their life. The dream is the water we drink to survive, the medicine we get to cure and the future we want to rich. If we look far we go far but, if we stick looking under our feet we will end and no one will know that we existed.
I came late to comment but, it was an opportunity for me.
Thanks sir! As long as our names are written here! (Report) Reply

This poem is very emothional to everybody needs hope. The poet gave us the full arguments to keep dreaming and he used the appropriate metaphore to draw the picture of our future if one day we stop dreaming.then, the poet used a universal theme to moutivate usand he used strength and meaningful words to gives any person that needs mental power for facing all the troubels in his life. So, accept the advice of the poet and keep dreaming without an end. 'Dreams' by L.Hughes is really the first poem that I find it profoundly impressing this effect is made by the fact that it makes as looking straight forward to our aims and at same time it provides us with the needed strength to make those dreams come true (Report) Reply

    Hi to everybody:
This poem contains a meaning that everybody needs. It means strength, when there is pain.light when there is darkness and hope that we all should have.A hard experience doesn't mean to give up and lose ourselves.A dream comes each morning and each night(each moment) .whenever we think, it is a dream and whenever we live, there is a dream (Report) Reply

Hi, dreams by 'Langston Hughes' in simple word is a fantastic poem, I like it so, because it is short but with deep meaning and great impact upon us. I think no one could stop dreaming, if do simply die, cause the dreams are the soul of our life, the sun of our days and... (Report) Reply

    For if dreams die
    Life is a broken-winged bird
    That cannot fly.

I think he is saying that without dreams life has no purpose or meaning just like a bird that can not fly someone without a dream cannot go anywhere they cannot fufill a purpose. I think he is just stateing his beliefe that dreams are an essiential in life.... its wonderful because its so much in so few words. =] (Report) Reply

But harder grows the more I her entreat?
