Dreaming In Color Poem by Fae Sebastian

Dreaming In Color

Tonight I’m dreaming in red
And it seems I’m surrounded by roses
It’s soft, and comforting
Despite the color’s intensity
Despite it’s usual association with anger
With blood and pain and hurt

Tonight I’m dreaming in white
And it seems I’m surrounded by nothingness
It’s a bit frightening, and lonely
Despite the color’s calmness
Despite its usual association with brightness
With purity and love and hope

Tonight I’m dreaming in black
And it seems I’m surrounded by my thoughts
It’s odd, to see everything lain out so bare
Despite the color’s tendency to hide things
Despite its usual association with blankness
With darkness and hate and rage

Tonight I’m dreaming in the rainbow
And it seems I’m feeling everything at once
All my heart, my soul, my head
Thrown all around me
And I see it all, expressed in the basest of ways
In nothing more than mere color
