Dreaming Poem by Richard Anders

Dreaming

Rating: 4.0

Of hopes and dreams I`ve many
to see the world at large
to cross the Gobi Desert
or camp by Lake Le Barge.

The high plains of the Andes
or the Colorado Rift
the tumbling Falls of Havasu
would give my soul a lift.

The Golden road to Samarkand
my winge`d feet would tread
and silver streams I see in dreams
would cool my fevered head.

My fancy wings to The Valley of Kings
or Petra`s Stony Portal
or Khufu`s mighty pyramid
wherein shall lie no mortal.

To Bethl`ms brighty shining star
my errant soul be drawn
to see the Lowly Stable
where The Son of Man was born.

I gaze in awe at distant stars
and wonder if there`s life on Mars
and Pluto coldly pale and proud
and Venus with her deadly shroud.

I dream, I dream of of distant lands
of waving palms and golden sands
and Solitude shall be my choice
until I hear that Golden Voice.

Excellent poem, creates some great scenes. You changed the rhyme scheme in the last two verses?
