Dream Seller Poem by Suraj Mazumder

Dream Seller

What fills your sack O! dream seller?
I am too poor to afford for dreams so rare
Dreams of a radiant youth and dreams of soaring high
Dreams of glittering gold and dreams of country wine
Nor dreams of Gods and dreams of kings
This poor heart can ever dream

The dreams of youth are vile as dust
Radiance lost with passing time
Can't dream of soaring high above
With fears of falling deeper down
With glittering gold and country wine
My heart's unfilled my life's futile
Of Gods and kings are dreams divine
Such lowborn man can hardly find

So find me dreams if your sack do hold
Of chriping birds and marygold
Amidst where i sit and sing along
To a distant reaper's song
And watch the river gently flow
And feel the hours passing slow

So find me dreams O! dream seller
If your sack do hold in merry air
A beautiful life
Free of care...
