Dream Of Contradiction Poem by Bailey Logan

Dream Of Contradiction

Rating: 4.5

A friend of warmth
born from the flames of the hearth
however there arrived the blizzard
on a frosty winter evening

Acquainted with darkness
a burden on the soul
but never loyal
a constantly changing wind

Treaded on uneven waters
broken bridges
but alas, a mechanic
mend the issues faced

Tiptoed past the door ajar
hushed the mouse on the floor
a scream pierced the night
guilty

Measured a friendship
on words spoken
one bad syllable
a taste of heartbreak

Dreamed just one dream
Thought just one thought
of warmth
of darkness
uneven water
a door ajar
friendship

to find there existed
only one truth...
I would wake up
and begin again
