Dream Girl Poem by Amitava Sur

Dream Girl

Rating: 4.7

A flower with all elegance and flair
Bloomed with it’s exquisite flavor
Arriving with all glamour and gloss
Like a well dressed queen on monarch.

With a winning smile she waved her hands
And won my heart on the spot
But didn’t spend a longer spell with me
Except a little while,
Time being so precious to her
Perhaps, could not spare me a little more.

She came, settled and calmed me
But couldn’t stay for very long.

I can still imagine her sparkling beauty
And can see her umpteen magic moments.
But no more I can see or touch her
Nor take her within my arms.

She is my beloved, my soul mate is she
A dream girl, all through my life.
Smilingly she waved and won my heart
But just for a little while! !

Awesomely beautiful poem, Amitava! ! You have written your heart into this poem, something most men do not want to express. Hidden feelings and emotions other men refuse to say aloud, you profess! ! You have the innate ability to put into words how you genuinely feel without hiding anything, not even the pain you feel, Amitava. You touch our hearts so completely in this way. They truly are the musical waves undulating, that you have spoken of dreaming. I give you 100 - 10's for this fantastic poem! ! Love this poem, Amitava! ! Please keep writing from your innermost being and heart, you are an amazing poet! Thank you, RoseAnn

This is a wonderful poem because it touches my heart but it is a bittersweet poem also. Sweet because the girl (she's not yet a woman, and that is part of her appeal, arrested development keeps her girlish charisma intact) is the epitome of femininity, but bitter because she can only touch you not embrace you, make any number of promises but not fulfilling even one, treating you like a singular man as she does countless men. She has every right to play this role for as long as she likes, and we to respond with delight... but she will never fulfill our desires.

What a wonderful poem this is! That the words have come from deep within, it is easily understood. The picture added is an additional beauty. This is one of your best, no doubt.
