Dream Deferred
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it wither up
And die away?
Does it get lost
Like a shadow in the dead of night?
Does it go unanswered
Like so many prayers?
Does it thrive
In the back of your mind
Looking for a chance to escape?
Or does it stay
Just hidden behind
So many thoughts and worries
There in the back of your mind?
What happens to a dream deferred?
