Dream Poem by Deep Sangani

Some of us go to sleep,
Maybe just set the alarm,
A few hugs and kisses,
And the light goes off.
We simply settle in for whatever
dreams are there to come.

Others of us just fall asleep
We are unaware of where or why or how,
Maybe the floor, the table or our lovely cozy bed.
But there's no doubt,
That the second the eyes close,
We're in a different world.

But we have our own ways,
Some struggle and cry,
Maybe one more of a story or a poem,
Eager to know what will happen next.
They either hate to not know what happens next,
Or fear the dark abandonment that lies ahead.

And then there are people like me.
Who just cant wait
For folks to lay a kiss on their forehead,
Maybe a hug, maybe a goodnight,
Folks like me begin dreaming,
Even before our eyes close for the dreams that lay ahead
